(Received Jan. 8. 6.15 p.m.) CALCUTTA, Jan. 7
Ninety thousand Aloo rebels are terrorising a wide area of Alwar State, looting and destroying property valued at thousands of pounds.
The authorities have appealed to the Indian Government to send British and Indian troops to assist to quell the rebellion, which is getting beyond control.
The Aleos are people of military tradition who supply many soldiers to the Indian army. The rebellion is said to be led by Bakhtiwar Khan, a, former non-commissioned officer in an Indian cavalry regiment, and who served with distinction in the Great War.
