A GREAT CAREER
The length of Miss Ena Stoekley’s career in first-class swimming must constitute a world’s record. Miss Stockier learned to swim in the winter of 1922, and early in 1923 she raced in intermediate events at the national meeting in Timaru. She first won the 100 yards senior title in 1925. She has now been competing fer ten years and Is aged 28. No other woman 'Swimmer older than. Miss Stockley is known to be competing in championships in any other part of the world. Miss Stoekley’s remarkable consistency is further Illustrated by the fact that the average age of the finalists in the 100 metres-, event at tho recent Olympic Games was only -17 , years. _ ■ W /v : .
