(Received Jan. 5, S p.m.) CALCUTTA, Jan. 5. Jang Singh, who shot Superintendent Thompson, was arrested in the jungle, after several hours sniping at a detachment of soldiers and police. He has now disclosed that the attack on Superintendent Thompson was the outcome of discontent over the disbandment of the Indian pioneer units, under which many Sikhs of lower social standing wore transferred to the Bombay Sappers, of which Singh is a non-commissioned officer.
