Cabinet- bold its first meeting o* the New Year to-day, sitting for nearly two hours. The Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. 0. IV. Forbes, said that he bad no announcement to make, arising out of Cabinet’s deliberations and did not anticipate there would be anything for some days.
