'result of the policy of the • Palea-Waibotara Rabbit Board in paying one shilling a head ’ for full-grown rabbity only lias been answered by the hoard, which maintains that, the danger would he far more probable if the bounty were paid on young rabbits as well as full-grown ones. If the bounty were paid on young rabbits it is considered that there is. a. possibility of some unscrupulous farmers preserving the old animals and breeding from them to obtain tlie bounty.
