S.P.C.A., states a New Plymouth message. This fact nvas responsible for a spirited protest by the North Taranaki Farmers’ Union, which had. representatives of the S.P.C.A. at its meeting. A denial ivvas given of any cruelty by the farmers. It was said that the letter if published, would have a disastrous effect on the bobby calf industry. The SiP.CI.A. president said that tlio letter had already been posted.
