Craws for the first trial fours series to be conducted by .the Poverty Bay JLowing Club were selected last evening. The number of nominations was sufficient for seven c-rews. Early indications had been that eight crews would be taking part in the series, but country employment had caused several withdrawals. The crews are as follows: J. McCarthy (sir.) A. Campbell, S. Davidson GISBORNE CL LB At a meeting of the committee of the Gisborne Rowing Club, held in the club-house last evening, A. -McLean, I. Corn, J. B. Ferny R. A. Gavin, T. Alexander, C. G. Van Dyke were elected members. Accounts amounting to £93 Us 9d were passed for payment. It was decided to run a;' sculling ladder and November 1 was fixed as the closing time for entries. Official coxswains were appointed as follows: 'Nelson. Briffauit, Burue, Harries. Bruce, Hunkey and Hanna. Alterations to several crews were considered and it was decided xo make the following amendments: In R. Hanna’s crew, R _ Anderson will be replaced !>v t ; . AAeatlierTy; in LRail’s crew. H. Blade and G. Hall were selected as an additional morning crew.
