'WIZARD” SMITH’S ADMISSION LIBEL CASE ADJOURNED. (U.I’.A. bv Eire. Tel. f.Vpyrignt) (Received Oct. 13, 10-20 p.m.) SYDNEY. Oct. 13. In the “Wizard” Smith libel ease, the. plaintiff. Smith, whs cross-exam-ined by Mr. Watt. K.C., for the defence. who ascertained that Smith received certain sums for information supplied to a section of the Press, but Smith refused to say how much. ML Wall ‘insisted that the amount should be stated, and declared that it went to Smithy credit. Mr. Watt added tlmt lie desired in prove that Smith got more than £IOOO- which was a very good reason why he should stage a fiasco. Smith said lie had a letter agreeing to pay him £IOO, of which £SO had been paid. Air. Walt questioned plaintiff at length about the tire in his ear engine and the conditions on NhictyM'ile Beach, also about the attempts on the five mile record. The hearing was adjourned.
