Miss Loughman showed a complete lapse of form her driving, which was a feature of lier earlier games, being much below previous displays, while on the greens she was never certain. She showed improvement after- taking the first hole on the home journey, and took the game to the thirteenth hole, hut had no chance of averting defeat. Miss Rutherford (Hawurden) and Mis. Coll in son (Manawa'tu) had a stern struggle throughout. The former had an advantage in driving, and in the short game was superior to the Manawatu representative, who, however, held her own on the greens. Miss Rutl icrford ivas one up at the turn, but Mrs Collinson won the -eleventh and squared the match. Miss Rutherford again resumed the load at the fourteenth and the next two holes were halved. Miss Rutherford lost the seventeenth, when she failed to sink a putt for a half, but took the lioino bole one over bogey, and the match, one up. The final will be played to-morrow over 'thirty-six holes. The senior division bogey handicap was won by Miss M. Bcadel (Christchurch), two down, after a tie with Miss Tizard (Timaru). The junior division was won by Miss O. Smith (Napier), two down. The same player takes the Rattray Cup for the host' score in the two bogev handicaps.
