The Federation Aeronautics Intern a tional has confirmed the world altitude record for aeroplanes established by Major C. F. Twins, the British airinau, in a Vickers Aosta biplane with a Bristol Pegasus engine. Major U.vvins reached a height or about 8 !j miles, beating the United States record by 800 ft. Lord Londonderry, on behalf of the Air Council, in a congratulatory message to Major (Twins, says the success is a tribute to Major Twin's own skill aud tlio efficiency of British aircraft and engines.
