FINAL Dir AT ;M£fAWHEEO KEEN DEMAND FOR STORES There was a keener market for store calleTEan the previous day at •the Matawhero spring cattle fair yesterday. fetchdd relatively bet ter prices than males' and were -disposed of more- easily. There was a smaller demand, however, for beef than tjm previous day, values declining in consequence. The total entry of store cattlo yesterday was 2850, thq total of fat and store cattle for •tills fair being- 048$. BEEF. The eutry of beef totalled 00 head, and generally they were an ■uninteresting lot. The market was very slack, with prices below Tuesday’s. There was a large yarding.of icmale cattlo for the second day of the fair- Bidding was brisker than on 'J'uesday, giving much bettor tone to the sale, and prices relatively were hotter than those for the male cattle. Yearlings 'ranged from 20s to 2Gs., a tew pens of extra two-year-olds £2 to £2 Gs, a few good pens at 3Gs to 375. and others from 23s upwards. There wero several pens about 30s.
