J. Bryce’s trotting stables at Hornbv, ' with several well-known horses," were .seriously endangered by a fire which, broke out in standing crops yesterday evening, but the Haines' were subdued after a hard fight by hundreds of workers. Some farm buildings wore slightly damaged.

Fire caused thousands of pounds damage to the science, rooms, testing laboratories and offices of the Aletallurgy Department of the bourne University, to-dav, and many valuable scientific instruments and projection were destroyed.

The marriage of n Prince of Wales is a rare event iu our national history, and it is worthwhile to nelo these, occasions.- Only a few of. the princes, married when they were in possession of this title, and one of this number was married abroad. First is Edward the Black Prince, who married Joan of Kent. .Second, Edward, son of Henry VI., with the. Lady Anne Neville, ' daughter of the Earl of Warwick. This wedding was celebrated fit Amboise, in Franco. Third. Prince Arthur, son of Henry VII., but 15 years of age when, in 1501, be married Catherine of Aragon (who was afterwards married to her brether-ih-ittw, Henry ViTII.). Tlie son of George TV, '•= afterwards George 11., married Caroline AYolhelmina., at the age of 22; but lie was not then created Prince of , Wales. Frederick, oldest son. of Gepi’ge 11., married at the age' of 29 to the Princess Augusta, of Sake Gotha, in the Roval Chanel of St. James’. And. fifth, the- Prince Rdr/mit. afterwards George IV- King Edward was also married when lie was Prince of Wales.
