Mellon, was charged to-day in the House of Representatives by Air. Wright Patfaan,' Democratic’ member for Texas, with taking part in the credit extension to Columbia arranged by New York bankers. He said: “Air Mellon owns voting stock in 300 corporations with combined assets of throe billion dollars.” He criticised the granting of tax refunds-to concerns in which Air. Mellon owned shares, and said the Treasurer had received profits from the sale of distilled whisky. Air. Patman also stated that Air. Alellon was the principal owner of the Aluminium Company of America. He declared that more aluminium was used now- in the construction of public buildings than ever before.
