Francois Coty, the multi-million-aire scent manufacturer and newspaper proprietor, is the victim of an astonishing law suit-. He married Madame le Baron in 1900, when he (Cotv) was earning £6 weekly. When he divorced his wife, .she claimed a half share in his colossal fortune.
Coty agreed to pay £3,440,000 hi instalments, of which he has paid £2,400,000 but, in view ef the difficult times, he asked his ex-wife to delay tho final instalment. .» Madame le Baron, however, refused, insisting that the ec'ossal alimony be paid forthwith, pleading that Coty is turning all his property into "companies which could not lie ouehed in respect of any personal claim. The matter -is before, the . courts and Coty is pleading that he is entitled to time in view of the huge sums he has already paid. ,
