Marshal Lyautey. who celebrated his seventy-seventh birthday On Tuesday, is paying a short visit to London as the guest of tho United Associations of Frances and Great Britain. “Tho creator of modem Morocco’’ was greeted at Victoria station by the French Ambassador, a representative of the War Office, and members of the French coloney. Later at a dinner in his honor, he paid a tribute to Britain’s genius for colonial administration. Members of tho staff of the Cash Stores assembled after closing at midday yesterday- to bid farewell to Miss Ruth Jones, who has been a member of tho staff for a number of years and whose marriage takes place next week. The shop manager, Mr. J. Graham, voiced the -regret of the staff at Miss Jones’ severance - from the firm and wished her the best of luck and happiness in her married life. On behalf of her fellow employees, he presented Miss .Jones with a handsome dinner service and half a dozen crystal goblets. Tho recipient replied feelingly, thanking the donors ■ for thoir beautiful aud most accept■in’e gifts. The gathering concluded with tho customary “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” •
