Thcro wore six starters in Sar.nr. day's race for- £he.<S tone'll am Cup, this being held over the courso extending fronr the Roebuck road bridge to a point opposite the Trafalgar hand rotunda. Tho winner turned up in Ai Clark, off Llsees., who narrowly won from L. Sheriff. Clark made up ground during the earlier part and was with Sheriff about 40 yards from home. In a good race from then on Clark finished too solidly and took the trophy. Crawford and Scott did not finish. J. Miller, the scratch man, put up the fastest time, cutting out tho distance in 26min. 19secs. The officials were: Messrs H. F. Foster and J. Chrisp (judges), Mr. C. Greig (handicapper and starter),. Mr. L. Oxenham (timekeeper) and Mr. D. Miller (secretary). The result was us follows A. Clark (4|secs.) 1, L. Sheriff (6Jsec.) 2 T. Wauchop (slsecs.) 3. Also com. peted: J. Miller (scratch), J. Crawford (51 secs.) and ; M. Scott (Bseos). Time 28 minutes.
