AEROPLANE HITS TREES WITH
TERRIFIC FORCE
TWO MEN INCINERATED

Two Air Force airmen were burned to death when a Wapti aeroplane in co-operation with the military forces in mock warfare, struck a tree at the Seymour military camp, aud crashed in flames. The victims are Pilot, Officer 11. G. Scoullar aud Air Craftsman J. F. Yourn. The disaster occurred within full view cf hundreds of volunteer training troops. The aeroplane was in the act of diving to bomb a Lewis gun anti-air-craft” brigade. Its speed was 380 miles an hour, and it swooped down from 600- feet, hut failed to rise, and struck three' gum trees, with terrible force. Tlie machine literally flew to pieces. The fuselage containing the men fell in flames. It was impossible to rescue the victims.
