Yesterday morning, in rcplv to ouestions,, the mail stated that lie was far from destitute and in proof of his assertion produced £l2 in Commonwealth notes irom under his pillow of his bed in the hospital. Taking a hint from other remarks by tho wanderer .the authorities searched his clothes and thero made the astonishing discovery of a further £S4I in Commonwealth notes. This large sum was wrapped in a piece of newspaper and secreted deep inside the lining of Ms coat. __ The inonev is now in the custody of the police and the hitherto supposed vagrant is still in hospital.
