GERMANY’S SHADOW
HINDENBURG WANTS YOUNG
PLAN REVISED
APPEAL FOR CESSATION OF INTERNAL DIFFERENCES
(U.P.A. by Elec. Tel. Copyright) BERLIN, Jan. 1
Marshal Hindenbuvg’s •.new year message, for the- first-time, includes a vigorous demand for a revision of the Young Plan, which “still is casting a dawlc shadow over Germany’s future.” The evacuation of the Rhineland was the only fulfilment of last year’s hopes. More energy mustbe infused towards real disarmament, not only as an act of international justice to Germany, but as the surest means of., universal peace.
Regretting internal differences tending to tear the nation apart and frustrate united efforts against, common dangers and the Government’s plan, he said .the only hope of overcoming the unexampled economic distress was that the people must rise above obstinate interriecine quarrels, business men. Labor leaders, and all patriots, joining in a common effoirt to face the threat to unset the whole moral and social foundations of the nation.
