TAKES UNUSUAL TURN

CONDEMNATION OF MUSSOLINI-

Signor Nitti said it showed a loss of liberty, leading to Italy’s economic decadence, as well as a decline in the intellectual level. He praised the character of the accused, and referred to young Italians of different parties who had been executed under the Fascists regime. ‘Ex-Deputy Turati said di Rosa sought to draw the attention of public opinion abroad to Italy’s misfortunes, and to awaken a spirit of resistance in Italy.

Signor Forrari, an exiled lawyer, declared that the King of Italy bad become the chancellor and Mussolini the dictator. A sensation uas caused in court when Signor Rosetti, an Italian, wartime hero; said the present position in Italy was like that in Belgium during the German occupation. He had himself left Italy because be was haunted by a desire to commit a patriotic crime-
