MILTON SILLS IN “THE CRASH”
“The White Sheik,” an all-British production with an all-British east, headed by Jameson Thomas and Lilian Hall-Da vis. and “The 'Crash,” a First National picture featuring Alilt.iiii Sills and Tnchua Todd, will, be tue headliners to-day at the Alajestie Theatre, at borlV-t-lio matinee and night screenings. “The. White Sheik” is based on the novel ol romance and adventure hv Itosita Forbes, The film has for its background Northern Africa, where the country Ms populated with fie ree Riff tribesmen. The story deals _ with the adventuics of a high-spirited English girl. who. while spending a. holiday in Fez, wanders into the mountains ami is taken prisoner by tho liitfs. Taken before their leader, who in reality is an Englishman,, she comes face to taco with a personality renowned throughout Africa as “Tho White Sheik.” The story is crammed full of exciting incidents. All the power, the pathos, and tho dramatic events that have made . railway building and railway operation in out-of-tho way places one* of the most colorful episodes in tho progress oi any country, are vividly dejneted in “The Crash,” First National's, special. The picture is the best in which Aiiltou Sills lias appeared for a long t*me. As the “hard-boiled” leader of a tough wrecking crew, stationed in tho High Sierra Mountains, Sills lends a portrayal that compares with ih*. season’s best. Tin* picture tells how the soubrettn of a, struggling burlesque troupe marries and tries to make a home for the boss of the wrecking crew.
