The New Zealander Mr H. FMaso, was badly injured when his machine was wrecked in a crash near Bury St. Edmunds. Five rescuers were needed to extricate him from tire wreckage. The tank burst, but the machine did not ignite. . .Mr Alase is a member of a private living club, and learned living in Australia. The crash was due to engine trouble.

Advice received in Auckland 1: st week stated that Air Frank Alase would probably begin his flight r'-om England to Now Zealand on Alarch 17 or 18, Air Alase. officially took over the Simmonds-Spartan machine last week from the makers, and was engaged in trial flights and in tests. It was Air Alase’s intention to make a. solo Hight to New Zealand, following tli© route which was taken by Bert Hinkler. According to his original plans, he would have landed at Invercargill at the end of Alarch should the venture have been a success.
