HARDLY A POT HOLE
NAPIER TO WAJKAR-EMO ANA
PLEASURABLE MOTOR. TRIP,
The Public Works Department is to bo congratulated on the excellent condition of the road between Nanier and Waikaremoana. Never before has the Napier-Wairoa road been-in such excellent condition, the whole lieing practically without a pot hole. The’ surface through out is being kept well graded, making motoring a real pleasure. The greatest improvements, however, are to be noticed on the Waikaremoana road. As far as Tuai practically all the bridges and culverts had to be strengthened with steel beams to provide safe transport for the heavy materials for the, hydroelectric scheme.. Equal attention was given to the road itself, with the result that it has now a perfect surface. From Tuai on to Lake House motorists will be pleased to know that the road has now been all well metalled and graded, affording easy driving over this section which hitherto had to be ne-go tinted with care, Visitors to Lake Waikaremoana this summer can rest assured of an ideal trip, as far as the condition of the road is concerned, at any rate.—Tribune.
