PROSPERITY IN AMERICA. BIG INCREASE IN NATION’S TAXABLE EARNINGS. United Preßfi Assn, by El. Tel. Copyrnrat (Australian Press Assn.) WASHINGTON, Nov. 12. The Treasury Department has disclosed that the increased prosperity for 1927 was brought about bv the tiling of. tax returns on income greater than 1,000,000 dollars for that year by 52 more persons than m 1926, raising the total of such incomes to 253. The nation’s taxable earnings increased 4.67 per cent, to 22,573.317,000 dollars upon which a tax of 526,245,497 dollars was paid. Reports were filed by 4,122,242 persons, of whom 2,404,168 were taxable. Ten persons filed reports of incomes of 5,000.600 dollars and over. ‘ PONCERT TICKETS, Dance.
