While to-day the memory of those who fell in the war is recalled, the nation yesterday remembered Avar’s living victims and generously supported the Poppy Day Fund of the British Legion. Immediately after midnight ex-servicemen Avere selling poppies in Piccadilly Circus, and continued all night lug, combing pleasure laud and newspaper land. They caught the night-ivorkers and the earliest business people. One seller, Miss Victoria Lloyd, Avith a trayful of poppies Avas admitted into Buckingham Palace later hi the day and was received hv their Majesties ivho purchased poppies. A pretty idea Avas carried out outside Westminster Abbey. Ayhere the grass enclosure blossomed out as a pdppyfield. . ~ . i..s \ i,.
