SYDNEY. Oct. -27. Representations are being made by the State executive of the Returned Soldiers’ League to the Prime Minister (Mr Bruce) for the conferring of a knighthood on Squadron-Leader Kingsford-Smith and Flight-Lie ut. Ulm. , , , It is claimed that the epic flights of the Southern Cross leaders across the Pacific Ocean and to New Zealand warrant the conferring of tins honor. The State president of the League (Mr Ralph Hutchinson) said that the Portland Diggers expressed themselves strongly in favor of the honor of knighthood being conferred on the two Digger fliers.
