ATTEMPT TO BURN WOMAN. . NOT LIKELY TO RECOVER. CHICAGO. Nov. 1. Stripped of her clothing, and .So shockingly burned that she is not .likely to recover, Miss Alfi’eda A. Knaak, a pretty saleswoman, was today found unconscious im the fur-name-room of the combined police station and public hall, at Lake Bluff, 30 miles north of Chicago. Miss Knaak had evidently been the victim of a moron who had tried to burn her alive. The fire had burned out when she was found. " . / The woman was formerly a University student, and later was a teacher. , Latterly she has been a saleswoman for a publishing company. , , - ■
