RABBIT CONTROL.
EAST COAST BOARD MEETS
The East Coast Rabbit Board meeting #n Saturday was presided oyer by the chairman, Mr. E. M. Hutchinson. There were also present Messrs M. T. Trafford, C. G. Holdsworth, arid M. L. Holden.
The report presented by Inspector T. Dawson stated that, on inspection of the major portion of the district he had found it in fair condition. Traces ;f rabbits were found on the boundaries of the Te Toi and Shannon stations and a small colony of the. pest were also located on the Waireka station. Poisoning operations at Tarawera had been suspended meantime, and there was evidence that the ref'bits had taken the poison, especially on country near Die upper Mohaka bridge. Twelve rabbits were lulled during the month. Inspector Burgess, of Te Teko, .stated that lie was at present engaged oil a tour of inspection with other officers. Twenty rabbits were killed during the month. The reports were adopted, liie hoard agreed to hand over statements of all outstanding rates to the solicitors for collection. Accounts amounting to £630 5s 5d were passed by the board for payment.
