BAY OF PLENTY POWER BOARD ('Special to the Times.) OPOTIKI. Nov. 10. At the monthly meeting of the Bay ol : Plenty Power Board the engineer’s report stated that the number of po'es erected during the month was 233, making a total to date of 13P3 for main lines. Up to 31st ; October, a total mileage of 777 mides of wire had been erected, equivalent to 179 miles of line. During the month 33 transformers have been erected, making a total to date of 163. _ A ’arge proportion of tlie service lines in tlie Rangitaiki area i,s now cow pletecl. and supply has been given to Matata township. The total domestic installations inspected in the counties is 365._ milking plants 103. in regard to the change-over, during the mouth 37 jo’*s have been completed, making a total of 312 This part of the work wi'l be conin'e ted this month, and Messrs. Lett’s plant will then be closed- down. The total consumers connected to the end of the month is 630. as follows: Milking sheds 103. Domestic 444, shops, etc., 133 and ranges 138. Canvassing is still proceeding, the results to date being as fol ows: —No. of houses 596,, ranges _ booked 192, waterhentevis. 482. milking plants 404. range wiring 69, connected load 2354 k.w., amount guaranteed £17.629 10s. No. ’of guarantees signed 615. In connection with the P.W D. supply the Board’s maximum demand up to date is 411 k.v.a. The total number of shut-downs in the P.W.D. supply for the month was 13. equal to a totial of 23 hours 10 minutes. Thus includes one serious shut-down on Tuesday, 30th October, from 7.15 p.m. until 12.45 p.m. on the 31st, due to line breakage in the Rotorua area on account of lighting.—The re port was adopted.
