IMPORTED GOODS UNPOPULAR. EFFIGIES EXECUTED. Doited Press Asan. by El. Tel. Copyrluh* (United Service.) LONDON, Nov. 5. Tho Manchester Guardian’s harisavr correspondent reports that the newly-formed! Polish League of Economic Self-Sufficiency _ intends vigor- ' ously • campaigning, including violence if necessary, to discourage the sale of imported goods. There was an enormous gathering, for the inauguration of the movement, in the parade ground, in the centre _ot Warsaw, where a mock guillotine was erected and an executioner, with his assistants, solemnly cut to pieces effigies of, importers, also ot various foreign goods, including Bri/tish goods and shoes, French lingerie and icosmetics, Czeoho-Slovak-ian glassware, German kitchen utensils and American patent foods, amid ,tlie spectators’ applause. The demonstration was so threatening that prudent storekeepers in Warsaw are prominently displaying signs ihnt all goods sold bv them are “fMade in Poland.”
