SHANGHAI, Nov. 5. _ The British river steamdr Shasi, 1300 tons, 1 was pirated between Shanghai and Hankow yesterday. Thirty-two pirates disguised as deck passengers overpowered the crew' within sight of Hankow, killed a Chinese clerk, and . wounded one of tho crew and an American passenger. The loot totalled 20,000 dollars. The pirates, who were ex-soldiers, left by-a launch which followed the Shasi. The latter returned to Hankow, where the Wounded were taken to hospital.
