PREPARATIONS FINALISED

•Preparations for the forty-ninth annual agricultural and pastoral show to be held on October 23 and 24 were finalised at a. meeting of the general. executive of the Poverty Bay A. and’ P. Association on Saturday. The meeting was presided .'over by Mr R. W Coop, there being a good attendance of members. A circular was received from the New Zealand A. and P. Association concerning a scheme for the superannuation of show association’s secretaries, under which the Association and the officer would contribute to the fund.

T,he Association decided to await more information concerning the Elan after a further conference to e held after, the Royal Show. An offer of the City Band to provide a programing of music at the show ground on the second day ol' the show at a fee of £2O was accepted. T,he Poverty Bay Stockbrokers' Association wrote acceding to the request for a loan of the stock hurdles prv ded they were returned and stacked. i An offer of a donation of £1 Hs. 6d for a class for the best sporting dog at the Show from the East Coast Acclimatisation Society was accepted with thanks, it being stated .that a class had been included in the echedule. The tender of Mr Chas. Terguson for catering at the show was accepted. A further offer to provide hot water free to the public at a chargo of £5 to the Association was accepted, the executive stipulating that hot water must be provided in two places on the ground. A special prize was offered by Mr J C. Field for the best beef animal in the Hereford, Polled Angus and Shorthorn cattle. The Association accepted the otter with thanks. Mr F. Collin undertook to provide the sheep for the dog trial events. It was decided to allow' free giaziijfr of sheep on the new’ show' ground to“exhibitors for a week before the show, on condition the sheep wereto lie. exhibited.
