SEVERE QUAKE WAKES THOUSANDS. TWO TIDAL WAVES. • (Sun Cables.) OTTAWA, Feb. 9. Vancouver Island was shaken by an earthquake at four o’clock this morning, accompanied by a rumble which wakened thousands of people. The shock was sharpest at Gosfield cable station, where fishermen reported there were two tidal waves. Seaplanes will solve the difficulty of rescue.
