SINGAPORE BASE.
TENDERS INVITED FOR DOCKS. ARMAMENT CONTRACTS LATER. (Sun Cables.) LONDON, Feb. 9. The Government has invited several firms to tender before March 31 for the construction of a wet ami dry dock at the Singapore base, t>, cost £4,000,000, partly to be borne by the Dominions, covering a period of seven years. There will be a separate contract for the armament and workshops, which are not to be begun until the above work is fully under weigh.
