RECORD GATHERING AT

The Waiapu Sports Club’s annual gathering, which was held at Tikitiki on Monday attracted a record crowd, the gate receipts being estimated to exceed £l6o'. The athletic’, chopping and horse events which comprised the programme were well contested, and though the numerical strength of thq, fields was diminished in comparison with previous years, the spectators were provided with a good day’s entertainment. The committee under Sir A. T. Ngata and Mr. 11. T. Fox, lion. sec. corked assiduously to ensure the success of the meeting. The results are as follow:
