RESULT OF SEAMEN’S DISPUTE.
SEVERAL SHIPS HELD UP

Three steamers are now idle at Sydney as a result of the seamen's dispute, the steamer Goitlburn being unable to find three men to complete the crew. Calls were again made for the Saws and Mackarra without result. „ , At Adelaide the crew of the steamer Nnlpn has given notice, as no unionists are offering to fill vacancies in her employment.—U.P.A.

(Received Janunrv 4, 10.50 p.m.) SYDNEY. Jan. 4. Calls for seamen for the hold-up vessels wore again futile to-day. Fears are now entertained that unless the Seamen s Union withdraws its demand for full pay ior members who attended the stop-work meeting and supplies full crews, a, genera hold-up of inrcr-State shipping will result.
The shipowners' representatives state that the position is becoming intolerable, and the companies will make no further concessions to the seamen in the hope ol settling the dispute.—U.P.A.
