SPECTACULAR SUICIDE
MAM JUMPS FROM BRIDGE INTO WAIKATO 1 HAMILTON. Jan. I. In view of a number of passersbv bub before they his intention an unknown middle-aged man climbed over the handrail of the Hamilton railway bridge at- 12.4-5 p.m./and crossing the sl.eepers flung himself 80 feet- into the murky Waikato river below. To the horror of those who witnessed his leap 1 into eternity lie the surface m a huddled posture, flung up his arms and disappeared. None of the passers-hy took enough notice to identify him. except that he was tall and clean shaven, and was wearing a blue suit and felt hat. Three persons previously have chos. #m the scene of the tragedy as a means of ending existence and only a leva months ago a'young man was saved from , apparent self destruction by. the pleading cry of a young girl. FATAL FALL FROM MOTOR ' CYCLE. WAN CAN 11, Jan. 4. Alfred Joseph Seddon, Brown, aged 21, died in .the hospital tonight, horn concussion and a fractured sjcull. Deceased's injuries wore the result of a fall from a motor cycle, which skidded on loose metal early on Sunda v morning.—P.A.
f CROSSING SMASH. NO ONE INJURED. WELLINGTON, Jan. 4. A motor lorry, fruit laden, was run into at the crossing at Khandallah by the Fields express to-day.
