CO-OPERATIVE PIG MARKETING.

(Special to the Times.) OPOTIKI, Jan. 4. A gcod number of farmers assembled in the Alhambra Theatre, Oputiki, to hear Mr. S'. H. Judd, a Cambridge farmer, on the subject of co-operative pig marketing. The Hon. J. 15. Gow presided. The speaker stated that the New Zealand Cooperative Pig Marketing Association comprised about eighteen co-opera-tive dairy companies operating an over the Auckland province. The methods used in marketing rigs were practically the same as adopted by the da'vy companies, the onlv difference being that no share capital is required, as no buildings are necessary. The Association is controlled by an executive nominated and elected bv members. Pigs ro eived are sent either to the Horotui or the Southdown freezing works. Details of procedure adopted in collecting, weighing,*'killing and paying out were given by- the speaker, and at the conclusion thoke present notified their intention to support the movement.
