A quiet but very pretty wedding was solemnised on Boxing Day, the contracting parties being .Winifred Edith, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Fri-.d .Fames, ot TaMiherti. and Hoy (Swish), second son of Air and Mrs Robert Allen, of Gisborne. The Rev. James Aitkcn officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in a beautiful frock ot white ivory satin, with long ninon sleeves, handkerchief cufls and ruffles at neck of ninon and a trail of orange blossom fell from the right shoulder to the lett hip. The customary veil was worn and a mop cap was arranged with a beautiful wreath ,of orange blossom. She carried a 'beautiful shower bouquet of large white roses and asparagus fern finished with white tulle and true lovers’ knots of white ribbon. The bridesmaid, Miss Edith Hih hert, a friend of.* the bride, wore « dainty frock of pale pink crepe-de-c.hine with pleated georgette front, and hat io tone, pink stockings and putty shoes. She carried a bouquet oi pink roses and asparagus fern. Airs James, the bride’s mother, looked charming in black silk frock daintily trimmed with old gold lace and with shoes and stockings to match.

Airs Fisher, sister of the bride, wore a most becoming frock of peacock blue satin with shoes and stockings to tone. She also wore a string of pearls. ARs Allen, the bridegroom's mother, graced navy erepe-de-ohino, and vioux rose hat. Miss Yileen Allen, sister of the bridegroom, wore a dainty blue floral voile suitably trimmed to tone. Air .Jack Allan, brother of the bridegroom, was best man. There was a la'rge gathering oi friends of both file contracting parties at the ceremony, which was followed, by a reception in the diningroom, which was bcautifuly decorated for the occasion, the breakfast being daintily laid out. A large hell overhung the cake in the centre. During the wedding breakfast, the customary toasts were honored and the happy couple left later hv car. mid a shower of rice. The bride’s going away dross was of violet silk, with cream silk pin-tucked front, cream velour hat and a coat of violet rep trimmed with cream, and shoes and stockings to tone. The presents were both numerous and costly.
