Queensland followed on, and when stumps were drawn liad four wickets down for 375 (Bbnsted 38, Higgins not out 174, Thompson 68, Rowe not out 30). The weather was fine and the wicket good.

Lister and Nothling resumed batting cautiously and scoring slowly against frequent changes of the bowling, until Phillips went on, when the Wickets fell rapidly, the innings ending before the luncheon adjournment. In the. second innings Queensland made a much better opening, although the runs continued to come slow. The batsmen, however] showed great confidence, tackling all the loose ones.
