TENNIS TOURNAMENT (Special to the Times.) OPOTIKI, Dec. 13. A lawn tennis . tournament has been proceeding lor some time on the Opotiki Club’s courts. Tlio ladies’ handicap singles has reached the third round, the results of which are: Aliss C. Banner minus 30 heat Aliss Downey minus 15, Aliss Abbott plus 15 beat Aliss H. Larmer minus 15, Aliss Braae plus 15 beat Aliss D, Larmer plus 15. Other results are as follows : Ladies’ doubles: Alisses D. Payne and Burnett boat Alisses Burt- and Downey; Airs Co.lyer and Aliss Abbot boat Alisses Payne and Hunter. Combined doubles handicap, semifinal : Aliss 0. Larmer and J-lilford heat Al iss I). Payne and J. .Tessop; Aliss J. B. Wilson and Fox heat Aliss AT. Holloway and Punka!l. Men’s handicap doubles, semifinal: Burns and Hawkins heat Jessop and Jessop. Men’s handicap singles, third round: D. Burton heat A. Burton hv default; Burns beat Hilford; Fox bent Alurray. The remaintler of the semi-finals and finals will be played during the week.
