The fortnightly meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council, held on Tuesday evening,' was presided over by the Mayor (Mr* CL E-. Armstrong). I nere were also present: Crs. J. Blair, IT. E. Maude, J. \Y. A complaint concerning damage done to a garden by wandering cows alleged to be owned by Mr T. Griffin, a borough employee, was made to the Borough Ooune-1 last evening by Mr T. Gordon. He claimed that, on the night of September ~G tiie cows were on his property and damaged over 100 roses and the lawns and vegetable gardens, the stock being finally handed over to the owner, who had promised to pay the damage, but now declined to do so. He asked the Council to take action in the matter.
