PALACE THEATRE
“THE MAN LIFE PASSED BY”
One of the best pictures you could possibly see, will be tlie opinion of everyone after they have witnessed tlie screening of ‘‘The Man Life Passed By” which opens at the Palace at to-day-’s matinee. The teian “all star” is so frequently misused that it conveys no meaning, yet it is particularly applicable to that of “The Man Life Passed By”. Percy Marmont in the leading role plays the greatest role of his career since “If Winter Conies”. Supporting him are Hobart Bosworth, Eya and Jane Novak and Cullen Landis. Around these beautiful and moving lines of Swinburne: At the door of life; at the gate of breath; there are worse things; waiting for man; than death—has the story been written. A successful and unscrupulous business ma,n (Bosworth) robs a man of an invention claiming it as his own. This man Gortin (Marmont) lives for one thing—revenge. By a strange fate one of tlie magnate’s daughters tries to save him from his evil thoughts but he does not know who she l is. The other daughter while slumming falls into his hands. He sees his opportunity for revenge. However, sanity returns to him before it is too iate. Resolved to kill the man who so deeply- wronged him he now decides to ask his forgiveness and apologise for his treatment of the girl. Bosworth still underhand tells him he was waiting for an opportunity to right some of his wrongs when a shot rings out and Corlin falls to the floor—and then tlie climax: is tensely dramatic and thrill}RfT
