DAIRY CONTROL BOARD
HOW It IS FEEDING BRITISH MARKET „ AN ANGRY PROTEST (Received Jan. 25, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 24. The Westminster Gazette, in a leader, says:— Before we can approve of a million expenditure yearly to advertise Empire goods the Government should explain why it has not protested against the New Zealand fiaify Board reducing butter shipments between now and August to the extent of 10,000 tons compared with 1925 for the purpose ot supplying the United States, which offered higher prices. This is merely a forataste of what the Board is likely to do when fit controls produce valued at twenty millions yearly. Australia is organising similar control of foodstuffs and wool, proving shortsightedness. The “Buy British Goods” campaign is a fundamental fallacy of the Government’s Imperialist protectionist policy.—Sun.
