MOTOR CAR WRECKED
LADY ACCIDENTALLY STARTS ACCLERATOR MACHINE SWERVES INTO DRAIN GIRL HAS LEG BROKEN HASTINGS, Jan. 25. Mrs F. J. MeKeown, Havelock North, with three children ajid Mrs and Miss Hill, of Napier, her visitors, was driving from Havelock to Hastings this afternoon. Mrs McKeown placed her foot inadvertently on the accelerator and the car swerved into a deep drain on the side of the road. Mrs McKeowm had one of ?icr fingers ■adljj Jn(u(re(di and /one of .the children, Leila, aged 14, sustained a fractured leg. The rest were cut and bruised and the car was wrecked.—l* A?.
