THEFT OF £BOO
STOLEN FROM SAFE AT ' TAURANGA.
TAURANGA, Jan. 22.
lie ally yesterday morning a sum of about £BOO was stolen from a safe in the office of the Sir W. G. Armstrong-Whitworth C'o. here. So far as can be learned an employee early in the morning took £2OOO froih the safe to pay the men on a porthon of the works, leaving two cash hexes still in the safe to be taken later by the men elsewhere. When another ywlenh 'for the money: about 9 o’clock he found the safe unlocked and tho money missing. - 'The^-twQt -empty leash:-.boxes -were dbund later in a ladies 1 lavatory, but IttieSfiP was :iio “trace :of the- money. No arrests have yet been made.—
