BRUSSELS, Jan. 22, _ Chrdinal Mercier, realizing that his end was approaching, summoned his servants and joined them in the prayers for the dying —A.N.Z.C.A. “CHAMPION OF BELGIUM.” LONDON, Jan. 24. The Observer says that Cardinal Mercier’s name will live in history as the undaunted champion of Belgium’s rights against the oppression and outrase of the German invasion.— A.N.Z.C.A. [Cardinal Mercier had been Archbishop of Malines since 1907. He was the founder of the Revue Xcoscholastique.]
