MOTOR CRASHES INTO POST
SERIOUS MISHAP NEAR PAPAKURA.
SIX PERSONS INJURED. AUCKLAND, Jan. 23
Just before midnight a seven-seater motor-car, travelling to Auckland, when turning a corner at Papakura, skidded and crashed into a telegraph post and was badly damaged. Six injured passengers were conveyed to the Auckland hospital. They are, Harry Booth, 38, injuries to head, condition serious; Richard OShea, 27, compound fracture of tibia and general abrasions; Mrs. Bertha Mercer, 30, head injuries and facial abrasions, she is improving; Mrs. Elva Robinson, 28, cuts on face necessitating titches. . , q’fie driver, T. Mercer, sustained a slight cut over the eye. The mishap was caused by the bursting of a rear tyre. 1 -A.
