The welter weight boxing championship of Australia was fought at Newcastle. Harry Collins lOst ojlb. knocked out Eddie Butcher lOst 21-lb. in the fourth round. Butcher made things livelv and was leading when in the fourth Collins snapped a short left to the solar plexus followed by a hard right to the chin, and sent Butcher to the floor, where he took the full count.—U.P.A.

In the professional welter contest last night Dick Loveridge (New Plymouth) knocked out Fred Ridgway (Napier) in the third round. Loveridge’s in-fighting and body punches gained him the victory.—P.A.
