GIRL KIDNAPPED
SENSATIONAL CASE IN NEW JERSEY.
ONE MAN WOUNDED; ANOTHER MURDERED
(United Press Assn. —Copyright.) NEW YORK, Sept. 6. A sensational kidnapping case is reported from Saint Clair, New Jersey. Mary Daly, stepdaughter of Joseph Bower, vice-president of the New York Trust Company, was whisked away in a. taxi-car from the front of her home. Then came a wild chase through the city streets and country roads as Santiue, chauffeur for Mi’ Bower, pursued the fleeing kidnapper, who forced his .negro taxi-driver to the utmost speed. The kidnapper finally shot Santine as the two cars raced side by side along the road. Santine suffered o scalp wound and became' unconscious, and the kidnapper disappeared. The kidnapper then murdered his own driver, whose body was found alongside the read.

WEALTHY YOUTH’S CONFESSION
TAXI-DRIVER ALSO DEAD
(A. and N Z. Cable Association.) (Received Sept. 7, 11.35 p.m.) NEW YORK, Sept. 6. Harrison Noel, the twenty-vear-old son of a. wealthy New York lawyer, confessed to the kidnapping and murder of Mary Daly, step-daughter of Mr. Bowen, also to the murder of Pierce, the colored taxi-driver, whose car Noel used, and wounding John Sandee, who pursued Noel.
The confession followed the identification of Noel by Sandle in hospital. Noel, who previously stated he. merely kidnapped the girl for the purpose of demanding £BOO ransom, is a former student of a Military College. He had been in an asylum. Both bodies wore recovered.
